
EarlyBird, EarlyBird Plus and Teen Life licensed user training
EarlyBird (under six years), EarlyBird Plus (ages five to ten years) and Teen Life (ages 10 to 16 years) are parent support programmes that aim to empower parents to develop their understanding of autism and to explore a variety of supportive approaches for a wide variety of situations and experiences.
About the training
Our licensed user training is delivered online over 2 consecutive days. The sessions are informative and interactive - designed to develop your confidence in using the materials and delivering the programme.
The training will be delivered by our experienced and knowledgeable training consultants.

About the programmes

The EarlyBird programme focuses on empowering parents and carers to learn about autism and to explore ways that they can support their autistic child. Parents have the option of inviting a supporting professional to attend the sessions alongside them.
The sessions focus on:- Understanding autism
- Communication
- Understanding autistic experiences
- Supporting daily living
- Health and wellbeing
- Connections
The programme must be delivered by an EarlyBird licensed user plus another supporting adult. This could be another licensed user or could be an appropriate adult who can offer emotional support to the families when needed and can add their own perspective to the discussions.
A workbook must be provided to each family and supporting professional attending the sessions. You will need to be able to fund the purchase of workbooks (£15 per book plus P&P) and whilst the programme must be free at the point of delivery for families/professionals they can be asked to make a voluntary contribution of no more than £35 to help cover costs.

Teen Life is our six-session programme for parents/carers of autistic young people aged 10 to 16 years. The aim of the Teen Life programme is to bring parents together to share information, experiences and ideas in a structured way. Teen Life emphasises the importance of autistic perspectives, with a variety of videos and quotes used throughout the sessions.
Parents can choose to attend the programme with a supporting professional. Our programme empowers parents to understand more about autism.
The sessions focus on:
- Understanding autism and autistic identity
- Stress and anxiety
- Understanding behaviour
- Health and wellbeing
- Puberty
- Education
- Transition to adulthood
The programme must be delivered by an Teen Life licensed user plus another supporting adult. This could be another licensed user or could be an appropriate adult who can offer emotional support to the families when needed and can add their own perspective to the discussions.

Course requirements
- Have at least 2 years’ experience supporting autistic children
- Have a good understanding of autism
