A Visit by The Worshipful Company of Glovers
Published on 12 July 2024
Our Virtual Reality Project is thriving, thanks to the generous donation from The Worshipful Company of Glovers, championed by former SES Chair of Governors, Felicity Chadwick-Histed. We hosted The Master Glover, Assistants Chris-tine Smith and Felicity Chadwick-Histed, who enjoyed their visit and announced an additional £4,000 donation to further develop the project. We are incredibly grateful for their support! This has enabled us to start exploring the use of virtual reality and haptic feedback virtual gloves in our school.
Master Glover, Clive Grimley tried the virtual reality equipment and was impressed by the level of immersiveness the technology offers.
Another part of the project involves haptic feedback gloves. For more information about how we are using haptic feedback motion tracking gloves, please follow the link to a previous article.
The development of this type of technology is still in its infancy, we are excited to be part of the progress, pioneering new ways to gamify fine and gross motor skills development and keeping up with current technology trends to be able to offer innovative opportunities for teaching and therapy.
A warmhearted thank you to The Worshipful Company of Glovers for your invaluable support with this project.
