COVID 19 UPDATE

For your information:
Children & Staff at SES who have need to self-isolate for 14 days
Dear Parents and Carers
The recent direction we have been given from Public Health England specific to our situation is that children and staff who have been required to remain at home following COVID 19 procedures, do need to continue to self-isolate until the 14 day period has been completed even if their test has come back negative.
Children and staff will thereafter be able to return to school if no other symptoms of COVID 19 have been shown, in line with government guidelines and once the go ahead has been given by Thea, Lucy or Richard.
Should your child need to remain at home It is entirely understandable that you may have concerns with regards to the length of time your child is required to self-isolate even if their COVID 19 test has come back negative.
In these cases the teacher and classroom lead will work with you to support in your child’s home working plan. Do also contact Anne our Manager of family liaison who is here to sign post and help as well as Thea from Havelock and Richard from our Woodlands site in Acton.
Two classes at our Havelock site have been asked to self –isolate and the most recent tests have been returned negative.
The site has been deep cleaned and only external visitors are accepted on the site such as essential maintenance, which will reduce the footprint of people potentially bringing in the virus and will help to protect all.
We ask that you let Jon our Student Coordinator and member of our Senior Management Team know if your mobile number changes – it is vital that you are contactable should we need to get in touch with you.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything else we can do to assist or signpost you towards.
Your commitment in supporting our school community to be safe as is possible within our special setting is really valued and we do not underestimate just how much of a challenge it may be for you and your family.
Thank you for continuing to communicate with us and for your understanding and support.
We are here to help in any way that we are able to during these unusual times.
Kind regards
Chloe Phillips
