Superbloom School Garden for Wellbeing Competition Winners

We are proud to announce that Sybil Elgar’s Superbloom School Garden for Wellbeing entry was chosen as the winner of the Special Schools category in the Superbloom Schools Wellbeing Art Challenge.
We are proud to have our fantastic 3D collage displayed on the Superbloom Schools website.
We have won this very cool bug tower to put in our school garden:
As winners, we have also received a personal message recorded by judge Lucy Worsley, Chief Curator at Historic Royal Palaces and TV presenter:
The pupils and team had so much fun on this project, from planning and drawing the model to putting three-dimensional objects together. By thinking together, we used a wide range of materials, such as sugar paper, sticks, rocks, straw, cotton, sand and soil.
To celebrate winning the competition, pupils and staff visited Tower of London by train and tube to see the Superbloom landscape created for the Platinum Jubilee.
We enjoyed the sensory experience of walking around the moat and explored the Crown Jewels and the rest of Tower of London.
Our school gardens are extremely important to us. We are fortunate to have ample safe and secure outside spaces. There is a certain calm that most of our pupils and students seem to express when outdoors.
With our prize bug tower set up in our garden, we look forward to keeping a close eye on any other little creatures that also enjoy being outside!
