Understanding Autism talks

One of the non members of the Hatch Beauchamp WI Who attended last night, was a support worker of mine in my younger years when I was studying countryside management at cannington college in the late 90’s and she had this to say:
"Ben, you did a really good talk last night. As a fellow speaker, I understand how distractions can throw you, you were unwavering, well done. My partner Pat and I learned much more about Autism than I ever knew 25 years ago when we worked together. I sincerely believe that people are generally more aware and that will lead to greater acceptance. You gave a fantastic talk, well done, it was wonderful for me to see you standing there, smartly dressed and very fit, telling others about Autism." - Susannah Applegate who has given her consent to use her quote above.
Testimonials
"We had a really good turnout for our talk on Thursday with Ben Nicholas of the National Autistic Society. He shared with us a good overview of autism which was both interesting and informative. He highlighted the need for more acceptance and pointed us in the direction of several books and videos where we could learn more. Thank you Ben."
"I chose The National Autistic Society as my chosen charity during my year as Chairman of Gordano Valley Tangent 2019-2020. My Grandson was diagnosed just prior to starting school so it is very close to my heart. Ben came along to talk to 20 Ladies at our monthly meeting. He told us of all the different types of support locally provided by the North Somerset Branch for children or adults diagnosed with autism. It is wonderful to know that there is help so close at hand."
"Bleadon WI members were delighted to welcome Ben and Annie to their meeting to talk about NAS North Somerset. Their talk was very informative. Our members are now much more aware of autism and how we can help. Ben and Annie were very happy to answer all our questions. We would recommend their talk."
"Ben was very well organised. It was a very good presentation. Well organised and very informative. Ben explained everything very well and we learnt a lot about autism. The presentation was excellent and Ben is a great ambassador for the NAS. Ben was very brave to give such a great presentation in front of a group of chattering women!!"
