Autism Services for Children & Adults Autism Assessment: Autism diagnostic assessment can be a stressful and emotional journey and for some private assessment can make this process easier, at a time and pace that suits you. There are a variety of options to suit your individual needs. If you would like more information please see below or email autismassessmentstirling@protonmail.com where your queries will be answered by one of the clinicians carrying out these assessments and where appointments can be booked directly with them. Option 1 – Consultation Appointment: This popular option is suitable for those who wish to explore whether their profile may be indicative of an autism profile which can be helpful when deciding whether to proceed with the full diagnostic assessment. This appointment usually lasts approximately 60 - 90 minutes. At the end of the appointment we will discuss whether or not the profile may fit that of an autism spectrum condition. This option does not include a report. (This option does not constitute a formal diagnosis of Autism). Option 2 – Includes a Detailed Report: Includes Option 1 with the addition of a written report describing your profile and whether it may fit the diagnostic criteria for Autism. This service is useful for those who wish to understand their profile better and do not necessarily require a formal diagnosis. (This option does not constitute a formal diagnosis of Autism) Option 3 – Formal Diagnostic Assessment: The diagnostic assessment is usually held over two appointments and will include: A detailed case history Gold Standard ADOS 2 assessment 2 Autism Specialist Professionals (as recommended by the SIGN and NICE guidelines) Detailed report and feedback The formal diagnostic assessment adheres to the SIGN and NICE guidelines and we are fully registered with the regulatory body – Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
