Cullum Centres
The National Autistic Society in partnership with The Cullum Family Trust aims to provide support and space to enable autistic students to thrive in mainstream. The centres and staff help students to build confidence and develop skills they need. The generous financial backing from the Cullum Family Trust provides enables the National Autistic Society to work with Local Authorities and mainstream schools to develop purpose built Cullum Centres.
Our Vision - The National Autistic Society
The National Autistic society on behalf of Cullum Family Trust work in partnership with Local Authorities and schools to develop Cullum Centres. Cullum Centres have a team of specialist staff who will support up to 20 autistic pupils who will have an EHCP and who can meet expected outcomes in line with their peers.
The Cullum Centre team will work with local authorities to identify schools that CFT will be willing to partner with.
They will support the school and local authority to complete legal contracts which outlines the 25-year partnership they will enter into with the NAS.
The Cullum Centre team provide ongoing support through the build process and once a centre is open to provide the best opportunities for autistic pupils.

Our Cullum Centres are operated by individual mainstream schools and students will spend the majority of their lesson time in the mainstream school itself. Every Cullum Centre will follow the National Autistic Society’s methodology to an autism-specific education.
The Centres will provide specialist support allowing students to stay in mainstream schools nearer to home. Each Centre will be unique to each school.- Each Centre will be part of the National Autistic Society supported strategy, receiving regular autism-specific training.
- Each school will receive funding of up to £1m from the Cullum Foundation for a bespoke purpose-built Centre.
- Each school will work towards Autism Accreditation.
- Each Cullum Centre is included in the network of Cullum Centres enabling ongoing support for the staff and Heads of Centres.
- Each school will benefit from the support of an experienced Specialist Autism Education Consultant.

Hove Park School
Cullum Centre
Hove Park School is a unique provision as it is a secondary school over two sites. Hove Park Valley Campus accommodates pupils in years 7 and 8, with the Nevill campus housing pupils from year 9-11.
Hove Park offer pupils and varied curriculum which also provides pupils for additional enrichment through half termly project day and extra curriculum provision.
Hove Park’s every child should initiative encourages every pupil to participate in a variety of experiences across their time at school. Each of the badges has a different theme and range of activities in which the pupils can participate. Many pupils obtain these badges and wear them with pride on their blazers.
Cullum Centre pupil are included in all aspects of life at school and have the same opportunities available to them as their peers, provided with support from the Cullum Centre space and specialist staff. Support at the Cullum Centre is individualised to enable pupils to become members of the school community, learning, socialising and taking responsibility alongside their peers.
Through specialist support staff are able to offer bespoke learning programmes, learning in small groups, social skills interventions and therapy sessions. The separate centres are able to provide specific support to the needs and abilities of the pupils and focus on interventions that can meet their stage of education and development.
Each of the Cullum Centre spaces has a space for socialising, life skills kitchen and teaching spaces. They also provide pupils with a calm and quiet space which is open to students. Provision for pupils is not only provided within the centre, Cullum centre students are supported by teaching assistants in at least all core lessons, this adjusted to meet the needs of each individual.
