Rachel Loomes

Rachel is a Clinical Psychologist working in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health NHS outpatient eating disorder service in London. Rachel is passionate about developing a better understanding of autism and eating disorders. She is particularly motivated to increase our understanding about when and why current psychological eating disorder treatments are helpful and unhelpful for autistic people, so that we can develop adapted or new treatments as needed. Rachel has recently completed a clinical academic fellowship at University College London (UCL) funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR). The focus of her previous research has included autism and eating disorders, gender differences in autism and eating disorder treatment effectiveness. Clinically, Rachel has worked across both adult and child/adolescent eating disorders, as well as in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
