Parent information
Cullum Centres are operated by individual mainstream schools and students spend the majority of their lesson time in the mainstream school itself. Each centre will be run by a Head of Centre who will follow best autism practices to meet the needs of each autistic pupil.
The Centre provides specialist support which enhances their mainstream education experience and gives pupils the opportunity to achieve alongside their peers.

-
Cullum students are autistic young people who require some specialist support to enable them to succeed in mainstream school who have the ability to achieve in line with their peers. Without the support that a Cullum Centre provides, these pupils would not be able to achieve their potential in a mainstream setting.
-
Admissions to Cullum Centres will be managed through the local authority process for autistic pupils with EHCP and not directly through the school or National Autistic Society. There are only 4 places per school per year.
-
The Cullum Centre was most commonly identified as the best thing about school.
