Embrace Autism, a programme of post-diagnostic support for autistic adults, has successfully secured further funding from Inspiring Scotland through the Autistic Adult Support Fund.
The Embrace Autism programme is a partnership between National Autistic Society Scotland and Autistic Knowledge Development (AKD). It aims to support autistic adults who are looking to explore their autistic identity and learn how to navigate life post diagnosis (formal or self-diagnosis).
Participants attend an online series of group sessions, where they share their experiences and build connections with each other. The groups also connect autistic adults, creating peer-support networks that will last beyond the completion of the programme.
Following the online group sessions, participants will also be able to access a new Embrace Autism Facebook community, which will provide ongoing advice and promote peer connections.
Rob Holland, Director of the National Autistic Society Scotland, said:
‘After the successful initial launch of the Embrace Autism Programme, I am delighted to see that the project has received further funding. We thank Inspiring Scotland for allowing this incredible project to continue, as it has received excellent feedback from group participants so far.’
