How to create your online giving page
-
Have a look at the different online fundraising websites and decide which you are going to use. We have included links below to each website and their easy step-by-step guidance to setting up an online page. JustGiving is an excellent platform to raise money for a sponsored activity or an event. Facebook is great for setting up an easy birthday or celebration fundraiser.
All you need to get started is an email address, then follow the website instructions, remembering to select the National Autistic Society when prompted to choose your charity!
-
People are inspired to give when they are connected to a story, so make sure anyone who visits your page knows why you’re fundraising for the National Autistic Society. Add photographs, videos and updates along the way to show people just how important it is to support you and your cause.
-
Think about setting a fundraising target – friends and family will want to help you reach your goal.
-
If you’re also collecting funds offline using a sponsorship form, or a collection tin, make sure to update your page so family and friends can see the full total you’ve raised. It also allows us to collect all the Gift Aid easily.
-
Once your page is looking good and ready to go, you can share it far and wide by using the link the website will give you. If you have any updates to tell people about during the lead up to the fundraiser, let them know!
-
It's a good idea to thank your supporters following any donations to your page and again once your fundraiser is complete and all the money is in. Be sure to post a message of thanks to all your supporters.
