At Bower Grove School we have Key Stage 1 (KS1), KS2, KS3 and KS4 pupils who have behavioural learning difficulties and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We run a mainstream primary and a secondary school satellite provision. The satellites cater for children with ASD and there are 12 children in each provision. Over 50 per cent of pupils have an ASD or social communication needs. All pupils are educated in their chronological year group. Bower Grove also provides inclusion support to mainstream pupils in all key stages. This involves teacher and Learning Support Assistant (LSA) support and whole school INSET training. Staff are also involved in the foundation stage ASD county training for teachers Special Educational Needs CO-ordinator (SENCOs)/LSAs/parents. Volunteers may be accepted to work with pupils. We provide inclusion support for Maidstone, Tonbridge and Malling schools.
