1. AUTISM SPECTRUM CONDITIONS (ASCs): .

.

ASSESSMENT: Our assessments are carried out by a specialist neurodevelopmental psychiatrist Dr Michael Craig at the website www.craigclinic.com along with a team of experts in the management of ASC. Where indicated this will include the following: a) A clinical assessment based on diagnostic criteria described by the International Classification of Diseases 10th Edition (ICD-10); b) The Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R). This is semi-standardised interview of parents. It focuses primarily on the key diagnostic characteristics of ASC. These may include developmental delays, differences in reciprocal social interactions, language, communication and play and on restricted and stereotyped behaviours and interests. Many items concentrate on the four to five year old period. c) The Autism Observation Schedule (ADOS-G, Module 4). This is a semi-structured interview/observational assessment of patients. It focuses on communication, social interaction and imagination over 9-14 activities completed during a single session. .

TREATMENT: We aim to provide holistic, multi-disciplined approach with specialists in ASC. This may include one-to-one Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), social skills training, and/or group therapy. A review of medication will also be considered for individuals with associated mental health difficulties. .

2. ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD): .

.

ASSESSMENT: Assessment is via a well-researched protocol using the Brown and Berkley scales and the Connors semi-structured interview with you, and, where possible, a family member. Old school reports will be analysed and psychometric tests may be administered to support the diagnosis. .

TREATMENT: The treatment of ADHD consists of medication, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psycho-Education. Any medication is tailored to your exact requirements. Family and Couple Therapy can also aid treatment..
