Whitfield is a mainstream school and Aspen is the specialist provision within the same building that caters for pupils with profound, severe and complex learning difficulties including autism. The Aspen School caters for up to 50 pupils at a time aged 4-11 years, the Aspen Nursery has placements for Observation and Assessment purposes in order to establish early intervention and clarify the child's needs to inform decisions about school placement. The list of learning difficulties is correct, though not exhaustive.
