All referrals would need to be for an adult over 18 years old with a diagnosis, and funding in place from the local authority or health trust who are seeking supported living services.
The ladies that are currently supported in the cottages either side of the vacant bungalow can be noisy and being in the middle there may be times when this is audible. We can explore referrals with a longer leading time as for any new person accessing the service there would need to be a recruitment drive prior to a moving in date.
In England the regulatory body CQC is ensuring support providers are providing local services for local people. Therefore when we receive a referral from a local authority outside of where our service is, we need to demonstrate we have taken steps to explore meaningful family links or connections to the area. We would also need a clear rationale from the funder as to why an out of county placement is being sought. Therefore not all referrals may be considered for each NAS service.
