Main information
Type of service: Local groups, Play and leisure
A voluntary self-help group offering activities and providing support to local individuals and families. The group is a parent group for Carmarthenshire residents. Regular family fun sessions are held at Funsters, a soft play fun factory in Hendy. The branch also arranges social evenings for parents and young adults, drop in social coffee mornings and evenings and exclusive cinema showings for group members. Social outings are planned for children to develop educationally and socially. The branch aims to provide members with information on local and national services and organisations and to inform on good practice. The branch is committed to enabling members to access the same opportunities as others. Support and information is offered to members and interested parties in either Welsh or English. A book and video library has been established by means of a local authority grant, giving members access to a wide selection of information on autism and related topics. A monthly newsletter is produced and is the main form of communication to all members, listing forthcoming activities and information on local meetings and matters of interest.
