This is an autism awareness group aimed at autistic adults, with a focus on promoting a positive sense of autistic identity. The group is predominantly a social group and offers a variety of activities such as crafts or board games. We also meet in the community to go to activities such as the cinema or to a restaurant. In addition to the social activities, the group undertakes activities relating to developing a positive sense of autistic identity. This might be group work, activities or discussions about things like self-esteem, understanding autism, knowing your rights or explaining autism to others. The group is based in Newcastle, and might meet in the community - for example, at a restaurant.
