Angus Council Adult Learning Disability Resource Centres services are primarily provided outwith a person’s home, often in a building based or community group setting. The service offers a person centred outcome focused service to adults with a learning disability and/or adults on the autistic spectrum. Individuals receiving a service should expect a service which fully promotes dignity and respect, compassion, inclusion, responsive care and support and also promotes their wellbeing to support them to achieve their full potential.

All staff will be required to undertake mandatory training to meet the assessed needs of service users they are supporting, this training will include communication, behaviour support, manual handling etc.

All service users will have individual outcome focused support plans based on their assessed needs. These support plans will detail fully how best to support individuals taking into account their needs and wishes.

The service will be part of an integrated package of care which will enable individuals to remain as independent as possible while being fully included within their local communities.

Day services will provide a high quality care and support that is right for each individual based on their assessed needs, this includes health and nutrition needs.

Day services will ensure individuals are fully involved in all decisions about their care and support.

Day services will ensure the environment is of high quality to those individuals who require a building based service ensuring a safe and secure environment that meets health, safety and legislative requirements.
