Sutherland House is a non-maintained special school, providing for up to 94 pupils located in the center of Nottingham. Educational approach is highly individualised but comprises the following key features: structure; positive intervention; individual teaching; emphasis on communication and interaction; emphasis on emotional well being; and awareness of sensory issues. The staff team includes Head Teachers, Assistant Head Teachers, teachers, teaching assistants, specialists (eg Design and Technology (D+T), Information Communication Technology (ICT), curriculum coordinator, Speech and Language Therapy Team, music specialists (for music interaction therapy) and assistant Psychologists.
