The Autism Together (formerly Wirral Autistic Society) Children & Family Support service provides information and advice to families that have a child on the autistic spectrum. We offer a wide range of services covering ages from 0-18 years old and their families, these include: Rainbow Groups for under 7's, weekly activity clubs for 8-18 year olds, Respite for children aged 0-14 years, teenager social groups for 14-18 year olds, summer and half term activity clubs, sibling groups and coffee mornings for teenagers. For families of children on the autistic spectrum we offer; workshops covering a wide variety of topics, an in-depth 8 week Parenting a Child with Autism course, Coffee Mornings, open days, one-to-one appointments, library service and a weekly email newsletter. Our service supports people on the autism spectrum using autism specific strategies such as Structure, Positive approaches and expectations, Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL), Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Intensive Interaction and Social Stories..
