Autistic Nottingham
Main information
Type of service: Local groups, Social groups
Autistic Nottingham is an organisation run for and by Autistic Adults without learning disabilities. We work with Autistic people who are considered "low needs" and, because of this, are often cast aside from services. We understand that low needs does not mean no needs. We run a monthly social event within the city centre, where diagnosed adults can socialise in a relaxed environment with other people in the same boat. We also offer an Autism Advocacy Service that can be accessed by anyone with a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition. We can advocate for you in situations where you need to support to get your voice heard. such as tribunals, meetings with employers, arranging reasonable adjustments for medical procedures, applying for disability benefits and more. We can also advocate for undiagnosed adults who are seeking a diagnosis and need support to get an assessment referral.
