Burraton Community Primary School
Main information
Type of service: Assessment, Day schools, Outreach - education, Schools, Respite and short breaks
We have high expectations of all our children and support every individual to make good progress. However, we want our children to enjoy school and fun is a high priority. We have learnt that high standards are achieved through a relaxed, friendly and disciplined ethos. As a thinking school we teach the children how to learn by providing them with strategies to develop their thinking skills and the attitudes to use them. This supports our vision for our children to be independent learners who are involved in decisions about their learning. When children leave Burraton they will have the skills, self-discipline and confidence to be a success. We endeavour to offer opportunities for successful academic, social, cultural, emotional, spiritual, moral and physical development in a well-disciplined yet friendly and caring environment. We welcome all young people here, including those with severe learning difficulties. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils. Respite services are also open to other pupils outside the school.
