Dr Alex Edwards provides a professional and caring Clinical Psychology service specialising in the diagnostic assessment and support of children/young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and their families. She also has experience of providing autism diagnostic assessments for adults. Alex often works with children/young people and their families to support with concerns relating to emotional well-being (such as anxieties or low mood), behaviours (e.g. concerns relating to sleep or challenging behaviours), and supporting emotion regulation and communication. Alex also works with a specialist multi-disciplinary team to provide diagnostic assessment for Autism Spectrum Conditions. The team offer a caring and supportive assessment process, using the 'gold standard' autism assessments of the ADI-R and ADOS-2. The assessment process also includes school observation/liaison and options of a language assessment, sensory profile assessment, and cognitive assessment. Free initial 20 minute consultation. Fees for assessment and therapy appointments available on request.
Before focusing on private practice Dr Alex Edwards has over ten years experience of working as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS. She is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and has professional indemnity insurance cover. Dr Alex Edwards is based in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire. Face to face appointments available for Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
