At ENA Behaviour Consultancy, we understand that all behaviours are a form of communication, and that all behaviours happen for a reason.
By using the evidence-based approach of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), we aim to work collaboratively with you to understand what your young person is communicating through their behaviour, and to create a proactive approach to improve their quality of life.
We offer short term one-to-one work with families (6-8 sessions) to allow the work to be focused and goal oriented. Our work is focused on supporting families at an early intervention level to help address distressed behaviours before they begin impacting on a young person's development. Not only does this reduce the long term effects on a young person's mental health, but it also supports their family and network and helps them to feel more confident at supporting their young person.
Alongside one-to-one work, we also offer recorded workshops focusing on one specific topic that can be easily accessed via our website. These short webinars offer advice and strategies that can be accessed a time that is convenient for you. We also hope to being running parent workshops in the near future that will be run on a needs basis.
Our work is offered virtually so that we can offer our support to families that need it all over the country, and we accept referrals from both families and professionals. A diagnosis is not necessary to access our service as we are needs led rather than diagnosis led, however our expertise is working with autistic individuals and their families. Unfortunately at this time we are unable to support families who live in Hertfordshire and West Essex, but we would be happy to provide signposting support to these families if required.
We have a range of training and experience of supporting autistic people which includes:
- Over 12 years experience working in a range of settings which includes schools, specialist nurseries, and most recently the NHS.
- Talking Mats Training
- Makaton Stage One
- Trained Sleep Scotland Sleep Counsellor
- Trained PROACT-Scip Instructor
- Certifications including UK(SBA) and the BCBA.
Alongside this, there are multiple courses that have expanded our knowledge of supporting Autistic people and their families which include topics around consent and assent, trauma informed care, AFRID and other feeding difficulties, executive functioning, and parent support and caregiver coaching.
