Grange School caters for over 160 pupils aged 4 to 19 years who have autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and complex learning difficulties. It is a Local Authority (LA) day school situated in central Manchester. It offers small teaching groups together with high staff ratios across all age ranges. It is committed to providing education together with enabling the all round development of each child and encouraging them to lead a full and satisfying life, transmitting values and attitudes in accordance with accepted social behaviour.
The school works in partnership with parents and other professionals in order to best serve the interests of its pupils. It has access to a range of therapies and support services which can be tailored on an individual basis. The school uses the Structure, Positive (approaches and expectations), Empathy, Low arousal, Links (SPELL) framework. Another facility offered by the school is mobile multi-sensory and soundbeam equipment.
