I am an Autism Specialist Mentor with 18 years of professional experience working with autistic children, young people and young adults in a mainstream setting (Langley Park School for Boys) with a specialist autism provision. I work part time at Bromley Mencap as a SEND Tutor and also run my own Autism Specialist Mentoring Service. I am also the parent of an autistic child, which gives me an exceptional understanding and insight into autism and how it affects not only the young person but also the parents, siblings and wider family.
I have tirelessly championed not only my own child but the many, many young people and their families I have worked with over the years. My mentoring service offers support and guidance to young people, 13 - 25 to explore individual identity, understand diagnosis, perspective taking, build self-esteem and move onto their next steps. I work with individuals 1:1 for 1 hour sessions, usually once a week online (in person can be arranged depending on availability). The sessions are person centred and I am able to facilitate the young person through their own individual journey, whatever that may be. Together we can explore their next steps, for example in education, employment, socially, emotionally and improve self-esteem and confidence in a non-judgmental, supportive environment.
I am passionate about helping young people to empower themselves to choose their own path in life. I am able to offer my support, experience and expertise, through my lived experience to young people and their families to navigate through the many challenges which face them.
I offer the mentoring sessions online.
