Kingfisher Barn is located on the outskirts of Abingdon-upon-Thames, and offers both B&B rooms and self catering accommodation, surrounded by gorgeous countryside yet still walking distance of the town centre. We aim to create a peaceful environment where our guests can enjoy the spacious, quiet surroundings. The peaceful setup may be suitable for autistic people and their families, previous guests with autism have said they loved the setup and the sensitive approach our staff took. With our self check in setup and buffet style breakfast, we offer a flexible unobtrusive service, with staff on hand when required. Being a small, independent business we can really take on board individual needs and tailor each stay to make sure everyone is comfortable. Once a booking is made, we send out a confirmation email and a booking reminder email a couple of days prior to arrival, both of which are full of all the information guests will need to know ahead of their stay, allowing our guests to know exactly what to expect for their visit. We are also happy to welcome guests to view the barn prior to booking to make sure they are happy with the surroundings before committing to stay. For previous autistic guests we have communicated with their careers and/or family members to make sure individual needs can be met. Our excellent location lends itself to those wanting a break from the day to day, and those wanting a little time to slow down.

Due to the variety, our accommodation is ideal for family holidays, reunions, as base for touring Oxfordshire, for individuals travelling for work or just a great place to relax. There are 6 self-catering cottages sleeping from 2-8 people in each unit. 4 are wheelchair accessible, with 3 of the properties having hoist facilities in the bedrooms and bathrooms. We also have 10 en-suite B&B rooms situated around a lovely courtyard garden. Each of these rooms is its own self contained unit with its own front door, a desk, free wifi and tea and coffee making facilities.
