Main information
Type of service: Residential services
A development of housing which provides a residential care and lifestyle support service for people with an autistic spectrum disorder and associated disorders, some of whom may also have a learning disability. Moorpark Place offers a range of facilities and off-site activities.
The site is residential and aims to improve independent living skills with the opportunity to move on to live independently or with supported living in the community. Moorpark offers access to further educational tutors through nearby colleges. On site we use art and music tutors and physical activities to allow a range of ways for individuals to express themselves. We have an activities instructor, allowing individuals to carry out activities that they have shown an interest in, or which staff feel would be of benefit to them, such as snow-boarding, swimming, horse-riding or walking). These activities are mainly integrated into the community.
Moorpark has supported individuals in volunteer work and in gaining employment via the job centre. There is an open referral procedure and referrals come from social services, health bodies as well as self-referrals.
May accept volunteers.
