Northwest Autistic Women's Meet-up

Main information

Service categories: Extra-curricular and leisure activities, Support groups, social programs and branches

This is a unique, warm and supportive social group specially for autistic women which has been running since 2014.

Anyone is welcome to organise a meet-up or invite other members to an activity. We go on walks, see shows, go wild swimming, visit museums, etc.

For our regular cafe meet-ups, we meet every few months on different days. We run a poll on the facebook group to select a suitable date and we go somewhere quiet and have flexible timings so you can arrive or leave whenever you like. Mothers are welcome to bring babies/children under 6, but the focus is on autistic women. Meet-ups are usually arranged in Central Manchester cafes/coffee shops but anyone is welcome to host one anywhere.

Besides socialising, we help, support, and advocate for each other based off our own personal (and occasionally professional) experiences.

Join the (private) Facebook group to vote on/find out when and where our next gathering will be. Make sure you answer the join questions.

The group is an excellent springboard for building a local social network and finding friends to attend other events with.
