Northwest Autistic Women's Meet-up

Oldham

Main information

Type of service: Social groups

Social groups Companionship and coffee (or tea/soft drink/etc) in a relaxed, informal atmosphere with like-minded women. The Women's meet ups in Greater Manchester have been happening since 2014. This is a unique, warm and supportive group specially for autistic women. We gather usually around 11am and stay until about 6pm. You can arrive or leave whenever you like. Mothers are welcome to bring babies/children but the focus is on autistic women. We can meet you at a train station or have a good chat beforehand if it would make you feel more comfortable. Besides socialising, we help, support, and advocate for each other based off our own personal (and occasionally professional) experiences. Join the (private) Facebook group to vote on/find out when and where our next gathering will be. Check your 'message requests' and 'filtered messages' folders because we may message you to check validity of join requests. The Facebook page of this group is https://www.facebook.com/groups/918291794876126/. The group is an excellent springboard for building a social network and finding friends to attend other events with (a door way into the manchester Autistic community). The group meets every few months on different days. It's home is in a comfy, private venue in Oldham with direct transport links from Manchester City centre but meet-ups are occasionally arranged in Central Manchester cafes/coffee shops.
