Nottinghamshire Schools and Families Specialist Services comprises specialist teachers and teaching assistants with additional qualifications and experience in working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs (SEN) aged from birth to 19 years. The service consists of four specialist teams: early years; autism; sensory; and cognition and learning.
We work across Nottinghamshire in homes, early years settings and schools offering educational advice, information and support to children and young people with complex SEN, their families and the staff who work with them. Most requests for support are negotiated at termly "springboard" meetings held in schools. However, we also accept direct referrals from parents, schools or professionals for children aged 0-5 years.
