Fenton Ward is an eight-bedded, medium secure service which is primarily tailored towards patients with ASDs who cannot cope in busier ASD secure environments. Kyme Ward is a 16-bedded medium secure service which provides care for patients with higher functioning autism and mild learning disabilities.

We provide a highly individualised and person-centred service. Considerable focus is given to understanding the patient as a whole and to identifying environmental factors that are relevant to their risk. The service is particularly keen on collaborative working, and family members are very much involved in formulations and pathway discussions.

We focus on a positive behaviour support model and in addition to usual multidisciplinary team working, the service makes use of ASD-specific approaches such as social stories and tailored psychology work. The service also provides a menu that has been specifically designed for people with autism, following consultation.
