Shiremoor Adventure Playground

Main information

We offer free access to the adventure playground for children with additional needs on Sundays and Mondays, after school during term time and during the day in school holidays, to enable them to play and have fun. Children should bring an adult (parent or carer, usually) and can bring siblings too.

The playground is accessible all week but those two days are set aside for children who need a calmer environment to engage in play. We have animals, a fire pit, swings and climbing equipment, roller skates, bikes, a pizza oven, a pond and multi-use games area, and experienced, qualified staff to oversee the provision.

We have a small cash-only cafe offering drinks and snacks. We don't 'provide activities' as such; we provide a space and lots of things for children to choose to do, whatever their interest.

For: Children and young people from North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Newcastle and Northumberland (but all children are welcome).
