Ben Mahoney and family
We chose the National Autistic Society to support for our challenge as my son Evan is autistic. Life in lockdown is somewhat restrictive, we can't climb a mountain, or swim the channel, but when we heard about the impact that the cancellation of the London Marathon was going to have on so many wonderful charities, we decided to try and do our bit to help!
We're taking on the challenge as a family, from the young to the old everyone is getting involved. Ben running 2.6 miles whilst on the kids’ trampoline, Evan will be keeping Dad entertained by reading the book, 'The 26 Story Treehouse.'
Mum Rowena will be creating the number 26 in 26 wonderfully artistic and different ways, and Bethan, the youngest at just 5, will be simultaneously hosting a tea party for 26 dollies and teddies!
Barbara - the oldest at 75, will be stepping out, while continuing to observe social distancing, and attempting to walk 2600 steps in 26 minutes!
No-one ordinary ever changed the world, and we're doing this for all those out there who will change the world, because, not in spite of, being different.
