Caroline van Diest
Caroline van Diest is a Senior Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Europe Accredited trainer at Mindsync EMDR Training. Her teaching style has been described as informative, energising and passionate, enabling her audience to develop their clinical practice to a high standard.
Over the years, Caroline has presented to therapists on the theme of understanding neurodivergence and formulating and adapting CBT and EMDR therapies to best meet clients’ needs. She has engaged in published research on the use of EMDR for autistic individuals, co-authored a chapter in a book (Psychological therapies for adults with autism; D Spain et al, 2022) and participated in several podcasts. Caroline is chairperson for the ND and EMDR special interest group (EMDR UK Association).
Whilst training and supervising many therapists. Caroline also works in private practice supporting older children and adults with a range of psychological needs.
With professional and personal experience of neurodiversity, Caroline offers herself as open-minded and keen to explore ideas to enhance therapy and advocate for clients. Personally, she loves countryside living with her family, caring for a menagerie of animals, wandering in the forest, gardening or wrestling with her work-life balance and desire for connectivity with others and creativity!
