Dr Freya Rumball
Dr Rumball is a principal clinical psychologist and researcher, leading the Oxleas adult autism assessment service in the NHS. She completed a PhD at the University of Exeter, specialising in understanding the risk and resilience mechanisms in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) development. During her PhD, she became aware of a research gap regarding the experience of PTSD in autistic individuals and began researching this important area. Dr Rumball’s research, collaborating with the Re:Spect research group at King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, focuses on exploring the experience and interpretation of trauma and mechanisms of PTSD development in autistic individuals.
