Dear [name and title of candidate]I am [your name and address]. Ahead of the General Election I am writing to see how you and your party intend to support autistic people in the UK across,
Include a paragraph about your connection to autism, whether you are autistic yourself or have autistic friends and family members. You could also include your reasons for campaigning.
The National Autistic Society’s Manifesto sets out key objectives that must be met by the future Government. Autistic people are being let down by failures in the education, mental health, employment and health and social care systems. I would greatly appreciate a commitment to standing up for autistic people by supporting the meaningful and realistic policy recommendations set out in this manifesto. This will make a real difference to my life and the lives of all autistic people.
I would like to:
Choose one or more of the below:
- schedule a meeting with you to discuss my experiences in more detail
- share more about my experiences with you in a way that suits my communication needs as an autistic person (include more detail about your needs and preferences).
- ask that you meet with colleagues from the National Autistic SocietyThank you for taking the time to learn about the changes autistic people need to see from the future Government.
