HB Cares Hospitality Guidance
HB Cares is HelmsBriscoe’s corporate social responsibility programme. Working with the National Autistic Society since 2012, they have successfully provided work experience and paid opportunities for over 50 autistic jobseekers in the hospitality industry and created resources for employers and employees.
The hospitality industry is currently missing out on a large pool of undiscovered talent as autistic employees have a huge amount to offer. Some of the benefits of autistic skills and abilities include:

- strong technical skills
- methodical and logical
- creative thinking
- problem solving
- new skills and insights
- enormous quantities of determination and tenacity
Recent figures released by the ONS suggest that only 29% of autistic people are in any kind of employment and from our research, 50% of autistic people said that support and understanding or acceptance would be the single biggest thing that would help them into employment and 64% of employers don’t know where to turn to for advice.
