2SENmums make, by hand & to order, a selection of beautiful plain or patterned compression sheets which we call The SENwich blanket. This is to aid relaxation, calm & hopefully a better & settled nights sleep for the child or Adult that has ASD.
2SENmums is run by Sacha & Tricia, 2 Mums of boys, both with ASD & a history of sleep disruption, high anxieties & not being able to settle down & stay in their own bed at night. We decided to make our own compression sheets to see if these would offer some benefit our boys. Having had some success with weighted blankets in the past, we found these would be kicked off eventually during the night. After the first night tucked into their SENwich blankets, We saw an immediate improvement in both children who were now able to relax, settle better & fall asleep easier plus remain in their own beds for longer. This in turn had positives during the day at school with behaviour & concentration. We made some more for local ASD families to trial & they also had the same positive result which was even noted in school by some teachers about how the children were calmer. We now offer these to buy for SEN families like our own who have tried many other alternatives with little success.
Hand made, excellent quality fabrics which are breathable & stretchy, all with a high percentage of Lycra for a lovely resistance & 'huggy' type feeling. Our boys have named this The SENwich blankets as they feel they are in the middle of 2 slices of bread! We package each one individually & use recyclable & compositable wrapping & tissue paper too.
Available throughout the UK mainland , prices are £35 for a plain colour & £45 for a pattern SENwich in a standard single bed size. Suitable for children from age 5 up to adults. Toddler bed size for age 3+ and double bed size also available upon request.
