4u2drive provide instruction/training/support and guidance for individuals to learn to drive in a safe and engaging environment. One of the instructors Michelle Fox has had over 20 years of experience in various capacities working with adults within the Autism Spectrum or with autistic traits. These include management of care homes to being an Instructor/Tutor. Our aim with the driving company is to offer specially devised step by step packages geared towards the specific needs of the individual to enable them to achieve a level of driving experience…whether it be a fun day learning to start and stop the car…to providing intensive support to help the individual to pass their driving test. All individuals will have an initial assessment to see what is reachable and progress records charting their achievements will be completed. The oraganisation offers training in either a manual or automatic car and the company are happy to work alongside other agencies in getting the correct assessment for the individual made. The philosophy behind giving these opportunities to individuals with a learning difficulty is to broaden other aspects of their life-to incresing independence, improvements in social communication, co-ordination of motor skills, social interaction, and generally improving their awareness of the community around them. 4u2drive offers additional materials for learning to enable the learner to get the most out of this experience from DVDS, visual aids and audio plus computer packages.
