Mahdlo is a cutting edge youth service provision in Oldham. The Ability Zone provides support for young people with additional needs to access the full range of provision. .

Currently Mahdlo are running two inclusive ability sessions alongside the mainstream offer. One is for Juniors aged 8-13 years and the other is for Seniors 14-25 year olds. The session is adapted for young people with additional needs however is fun and exciting for all young people. We have a wide range of young people accessing the sessions with many different needs, mild learning difficulties to more complex needs such as visual impairment to physical disabilities. Young people are given the opportunity to access a range of activates for example boxing, trampling, karaoke, arts and crafts, cooking, gaming and much more.

Young people are able to access the session independently or if required they are able to access the session with careers or family member. Additional staff are on hand to offer support to young people if and when required to ensure the best quality experience.

The session aims to create an inclusive atmosphere where young people can make friends with other young people breaking down barriers, creating an understanding of differences may this be ability, religion or culture. Young people are empowered and confidence is built over short periods that they access Mahdlo.
