ARC UK (Association for Real Change) is a membership organisation for providers of services to people with a learning disability. ARC UK is made up of ARC England (with Wales), ARC Scotland and ARC Northern Ireland with each nation country focusing on issues most relevant to their own geographical location. Typically, ARC's members provide a range of services including adult placements, daytime/leisure activities, domiciliary care/home support, holidays, information services, nursing care, peripatetic support, residential care, respite care, school/college education, supported employment, supported living, training for employment and workforce development. ARC talks to policy makers and politicians in the UK, influencing the development of policy and practice in learning disability services. ARC also supports members to participate in national and local consultations and ARC's geographical spread enables the sharing of best practice across regional and national boundaries, having regional relevance with a national influence. Members are drawn from voluntary, private and statutory provider organisations. ARC provides a range of services for members and non-members alike including: training and development, a qualifications centre, online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, a workforce development fund national lead partner (England only).
