Archway (Respite Care and Housing)
Aberdeen
Main information
Type of service: Residential services, Respite and short breaks
Website: http://www.archway.org.uk
We have three respite care units, each offering respite breaks for children or adults with learning disabilities. Services are offered in a number of ways to best meet individual family circumstances, on an occasional or regular basis throughout the year. We also have eight shared care places to enable young adults with learning disabilities develop the skills they will need to live independently in the future. Four young adults stay with us for a month then go home for a month. When they are at home, another group move in. All are involved in all the decision making process within the flats and planning what they do and how they spend their leisure time. Staff work with residents to create essential lifestyle plans so residents can inform us of how we can best support them. We also have two permanent care homes.
