ASAP - (Asperger Syndrome - Adults and Parents) is a members only support group for adults (17+ years) with Asperger syndrome or high functioning autism (HFA), with or without a diagnosis, and parents/carers. It offers practical advice and emotional support to its members through regular monthly meetings in Chelmsford and Southend. It has a monthly members' newsletter; organises social events and social clubs and whenever possible runs specialist training courses. ASAP works with statutory and other agencies both locally and nationally to encourage the development of appropriate provision, services and support for the adult Asperger community and its families/carers. It also aims to raise awareness of the condition in the wider community through its training, which is available to anybody who wants to find out more..
