We provide Assistance Dogs for autistic children and adults through our Residential Assistance Dog Programme. In our Programme, we provide a trained Assistance Dog, as well as providing support and training for both the handler and their parents and/or carers.
An Assistance Dog is trained to have at least 3 skills or techniques that mitigate or help the challenges of a person's disability, providing emotional and important practical support in day-to-day tasks. Techniques that we can train our dogs to become include DPT, anxiety and meltdown response, fetching items, and waking their handler.
