Autism Matters offers training, support and consultancy for autistic people, family members therapists, health professionals and professionals. Training is from an informed insider perspective and uses experiential exercises to focus on the felt life experience of autistic people, as well as providing the information necessary to better understand autism. The sessions cover the traits of autism (social communication differences, sensory issues “theory of mind”, locating and moderating emotions, executive function and uneven profile of abilities) and their potential impact on autistic people and their families, friends and communities. Sessions available: .

• understanding autism for Counsellors and Therapists
• the impact of an autism diagnosis on adults
• the impact of autism in the family.

These sessions will be customised to meet your needs. Caroline Hearst who delivers the training is an experienced adult educator with a Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) qualification who is herself autistic. She is a 2017 Autism Professionals Awards winner and has secured a Churchill Fellowship to research autistic led provision overseas..
