Autism support for families at Leeds libraries

Boardmaker software is available in libraries across Leeds. Boardmaker has thousands of symbols and images that can be printed and used to support visual communication. There is no charge for using Boardmaker in libraries. There is a small charge for printing. There is no charge for laminating your boards and symbols. Parents and professionals can book sessions with a librarian to learn how to use the software or use software independently to print boards and symbols. Hundreds of books about autism and Asperger syndrome are available to order from any Leeds library. Leeds Library and Information Service, in partnership with STARS, is also running monthly advice sessions at Leeds Central Library for parents of children and young people with autism spectrum disorders. There is no need to book. Just drop in and stay as long as you want.
