Autonomy is a social enterprise which runs social events for young people and adults aged 16+ years with high functioning autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), whether diagnosed or not. It also offers support and advice to its members along with free a bi-monthly newsletter and a range of outings each year. In addition to our regular pub based social events in Shrewsbury and Telford, Autonomy now has an active monthly board and card games club and also our Autonomy for Women group. Autonomy funds itself by running tailor made comprehensive training sessions in autism and Asperger syndrome. Their 'lived experience' trainers offer personal insights into living with the condition. Half or full day training sessions include: Introduction to autism and Asperger syndrome; Living with Asperger syndrome; Asperger syndrome and education; Asperger syndrome and employment; Asperger syndrome and relationships; Asperger syndrome and the criminal justice system. We have a 5 a side football team called Autonomy Evolution.
