Barrs Court School is a co-educational secondary school catering for pupils aged between 11 and 19 years with severe learning difficulties or profound and multiple learning difficulties who may have additional needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The school provides a secure, positive and supportive environment in which pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally. The atmosphere in the school is friendly and purposeful. Barrs Court aims to provide a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum which will enable each child to realise their potential. The school has high expectations of pupils and fosters these through the delivery of a curriculum which is purposeful, structured, challenging and systematically monitored. The school encourages a genuine partnership with both parents and the community. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils.
