Bracknell Forest Information, Advice and Support Service provides confidential and impartial advice, information and support to parents/carers and children and young people who have, or may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Bracknell Forest. The types of support we can provide include: confidential helpline (telephone and email); general information on special educational needs; help for parents/carers/children and young people to express their views; support through the Education, Health and care plan process (such as help with the initial application process, checking the content of plans, appeals and mediation); help to complete forms; help to understand complex documents and reports; face to face help, support and advice; support at meetings (diary dependent); presentations to support groups; signposting to other relevant groups/organisations. If young people/children aged 25 or under would like to access information, advice and support directly, rather than through their parents, we have a Child’s and Young Person’s case worker who can offer this service. The same types of support as mentioned above are offered, but the delivery of the service is adapted to make it relevant and accessible to children and young people. This part of our service can be accessed using our general contact details. Who is eligible?: Parents and carers of children and young people who have, or may have special educational needs or disability in Bracknell Forest. They do not have to have an Education, Health & Care Plan to use this service. Do I have to pay? No, the service is a free service. Contact us: This is a self-referral service so parents and carers can contact us directly, you do not have to be referred by other organisations or professionals.
