Main information

Type of service: Day schools, Outreach - education, Schools

The name of the unit for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the ASD resource (one three in Powys). Pupils are educated in mainstream classes, support is in place for some pupils according to statements or need. There is some withdrawal for 1:1 sessions/catch up/homework and social skills. There is group withdrawal for Personal Social Health & Economic education (PSHE) autism learners. Resource is also used at unstructured times by many Asperger syndrome pupils and friends. Volunteers may be accepted to work with the pupils only with work placements. Another facility offered by the school is mechanics building from the Powys College of Education.
